Despite being booed and threatened, Golan proudly represented Israel with grace and class and dedicated her participation to the nation’s hostages. Her parents could not join her, because they could not be given proper security.

Alongside Golan, Tali Golergant (born in Jerusalem), representing Luxembourg, also earned a spot in the final. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed support for Golan, acknowledging her success in facing adversity.
