On December 10, 2025, Israel Daily News founder and CEO, Shanna Fuld, was the Master of Ceremonies for the Jerusalem Post’s first-ever Washington Conference inside the halls of the House and the Senate in the US Capitol. She is the first non-full-time Jerusalem Post staff member to host one of their conferences, and she is a frequent contributor for the Jerusalem Post.
From shifting schedules that changed the lineup, senators entering in and out, VIP egos and time crunches, it was intense but also electric. Some key moments include Shanna’s interview with Florida Congressman Randy Fine, the first member of Congress to wear a kippah (yarmulke) in the House of Representatives. Rep. Fine told the audience he started wearing it because his son had a friend who didn’t feel safe to go outside with the head covering on. In solidarity, Congressman Fine started wearing a kippah to work. That simple choice led him to step more deeply into Jewish life. He first found himself realizing (with the kippah on) that he needed to skip the shrimp cocktail at a work event (he was getting stares), and then he began to honor the Sabbath at home with his family. Rep Fine was funny and heartwarming.
Some other notable individuals included the U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnik, Turkish Ambassador and Special Envoy to Syria Tom Barrack, who praised Shanna. He flew in from Turkey for the conference. Other speakers included Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) – the only Senator to have previously been a Synagogue President, Israel’s Foreign Affairs Minister Gideon Sa’ar, and Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana.
The work continued into the evening, where Shanna moderated conversation at a private dinner reception, engaging in meaningful conversation flowing amongst an impressive guest list of decision makers and dignitaries.
