Hassan Nasrallah Killed by IDF

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and several top commanders in an airstrike on their underground headquarters in Beirut, Lebanon, on September 27, 2024. The strike, which targeted Hezbollah’s leadership in the southern suburbs of Beirut, was part of Israel’s broader military campaign against the group’s assets. The operation also destroyed Hezbollah’s anti-ship missile stockpiles, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. The IDF described the strike as part of a long-term effort to neutralize Hezbollah’s military leadership and capabilities.

Following Nasrallah’s death, Hezbollah confirmed his demise and vowed to continue its fight against Israel in defense of Lebanon and Palestine. Iran’s Supreme Leader declared five days of mourning in response to Nasrallah’s killing, while the IDF warned Lebanese civilians to evacuate areas near Hezbollah sites to avoid further strikes. Despite the targeted strike, Hezbollah’s remaining arsenal poses an ongoing threat, and Israeli officials expressed concerns about potential retaliatory attacks.
